When is the festival?

Saturday, October 2nd, 2021 from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. & Sunday, October 3rd, 2021 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. The festival will go on rain or shine, subject to severe weather. Some activities subject to temporary closure in wet conditions.

How much is an admission ticket?

Admission is FREE for all attendees. Most activities, exhibits and entertainment are also FREE.

Where is the festival located?

On the grounds of the Fairfax County Government Center. 12000 Government Center Parkway, Fairfax, Virginia. Click here for directions.

Where can I park?

Parking is available at the Government Center, with overflow parking in the garages across the street at the Pennino and Herrity Buildings.

When entering the site, all general guests will be directed to the RED GATE or BLUE GATE (the two entrances closest to Fairfax Corner).

Limited parking is available for drivers with valid DMV-issued hang tags or plates, and other special needs via the YELLOW GATE.  Exhibitors and volunteers will be directed to the GREEN GATE for underground garage parking.

The following activities do require the fees* as indicated:

  • KidWay MidWay SuperPass (all you can ride):  Includes all mechanical carnival rides. Also includes complimentary use of the festival’s Trackless Train Ride.
  • Scarecrow Making: $8 per scarecrow; bring your own scarecrow clothing for a $3 discount!
  • Pumpkin Painting Patch: $5 per pumpkin
  • Pony Rides: $7
  • Trackless Train Ride: $2 (or FREE with Super Pass)
    *fees are subject to change and will be updated closer to the event

Is absentee voting available at the government center?

Absentee Voting will take place at the Fairfax County Government Center building from 9am to 5pm on Saturday, October 2nd. For more information and details about absentee voting, please visit Fairfax County Absentee Voting.

Will there be a Fairfax County Paper Shredding program this year?

Due to space constraints, this popular program will not be a part of Fall for Fairfax KidsFest. However, there are plenty of Recycling-related activities planned for the festival. For more information on Fairfax County Recycling Events throughout the Fall season, please visit
